How does WhatsApp Business API pricing work?

Meta charges per "conversation" (a 24-hour window between a business and one customer), not per message. Four categories: Marketing (most expensive), Utility, Authentication, Service (free). 2026 Israel rates: Marketing ~₪0.13, Utility ~₪0.06, Authentication ~₪0.035. Plus most businesses pay a BSP (platform) ~₪175-450/month.

What is a "service conversation" and why is it free?

A service conversation = the customer messaged you and you reply within 24 hours. Meta removed the charge for this category in July 2025 to encourage quality service. Utility conversations sent inside the same service window are also effectively free. The calculator shows the worst case (outside-window).
